1. Install ExamNinja from its verified Chrome Web Store listing.
2. Select Chrome’s puzzle-piece Extensions menu in the toolbar.
3. Find ExamNinja and select the pin icon.
4. Select the ExamNinja icon whenever you want to open its popup.

Chrome may place a newly installed extension inside the Extensions menu instead of pinning it automatically. Use the visual quick-start page for the same walkthrough.

• Confirm that the email address is correct, then check spam, promotions, and filtered folders.
• Use the newest code only. A code expires after a short period and is tied to the installation that requested it.
• Wait until the 60-second resend timer finishes before requesting another code.
• If the email is wrong, choose Change email and request a new code.

If delivery still fails, email [email protected] from the affected address. Never send us the one-time code.

1. Open a supported text-based practice or coursework page where outside help is allowed.
2. Press Command+Shift+X on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+X on Windows or ChromeOS. Your actual shortcut is shown in the extension.
3. Double-click the question you want help with.
4. Read the answer summary and explanation. Verify important work against your course material.
5. If an optional apply action is available, review it before choosing to change the page.

1. Confirm you are on a supported learning or practice site. The indicator is intentionally absent everywhere else.
2. Open ExamNinja and confirm the extension is enabled.
3. In the popup, set Visibility to Normal. You can also use Command/Ctrl+Shift+Z.
4. Refresh the page after installing or updating the extension.
5. Open chrome://extensions, find ExamNinja, and confirm Chrome has not disabled it.

Some institution-specific domains or heavily customized page structures may not match the current allowlist. Send the site hostname—not private course content—to support if you believe a permitted site should be supported.

The extension explains the basic workflow, shows your actual shortcut, and asks you to continue with email. New users receive a free account; returning users are signed in. Successful setup ends on a Ready screen with the current free allowance. Closing the popup resumes the last setup stage. Signed-in users skip completed onboarding.

ExamNinja uses passwordless email codes. To sign out or delete the account, open the popup and choose Settings. Account deletion is permanent and removes associated ExamNinja application data after billing cleanup. If you have Pro, confirm the cancellation status in Stripe’s customer portal. The extension manifest limits ExamNinja to an allowlist of learning and practice sites, including common Canvas, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, Blackboard, Google Forms, and other supported hosts. Compatibility still depends on the institution domain, page structure, and question widget.

Text-based multiple-choice, multiple-select, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and short-answer questions are the best fit. Image-only questions, PDFs, secure browsers, and custom interactive widgets may not work. See the current platform guides.

Open the ExamNinja popup, choose Shortcuts, and use the edit control. Chrome opens chrome://extensions/shortcuts, where you can assign a different combination. Manual activation defaults to Command/Ctrl+Shift+X; indicator visibility defaults to Command/Ctrl+Shift+Z.

Open the extension’s Pro or billing screen and choose the customer-portal option. Stripe’s portal shows the active plan, next renewal, payment method, and cancellation status. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal while keeping access through the paid period. If the portal does not reflect a recent payment or cancellation, wait briefly and reopen it; then contact [email protected] with the account email and Stripe receipt ID. Do not send card details.

• Confirm your internet connection and retry once.
• Make sure the question is visible, text-based, and on a supported page.
• Refresh the page after an extension update.
• Check whether the popup reports an expired session or daily limit.
• A temporary AI-provider or backend failure can also cause a retryable error. Wait a minute before retrying.

Do not repeatedly submit the same request during an outage. If the issue continues, send the time, browser version, extension version, and error text to support without including private question content.

When activated on a supported page, the extension can read the content needed to analyze a question and send it through the ExamNinja backend to the configured AI provider. The ExamNinja database stores request and usage metadata and a one-way content hash, not the raw submitted question or generated answer. Chrome local storage holds the installation ID, session, account, onboarding, billing, and preference values needed to operate the extension.
